The hospita contract
The hospita contract goes with hospita rental: you rent out one or more rooms in the home you live in yourself. For most hosts this is the recommended contract.
Distinctive features
- 9-month trial period: During the first 9 months, both host and tenant can end the contract relatively easily. Ideal for seeing whether sharing your home works.
- Regular protection after the trial: If your tenant stays beyond the trial, the contract continues for an indefinite period and normal rent protection applies. From then on you can only end it on legal grounds.
- Flexibility: Compared with a regular rental contract, the hospita contract offers more flexibility, precisely because you share your own home.
When doesn't this fit?
The hospita contract only applies if you live in the property yourself. Don't live there? Choose one of the other contract types. For the ground rules, see legal obligations for hosts.
