Clear payment agreements prevent problems. Here's how to arrange it best.

How to arrange rent

• Monthly payment: The tenant pays rent every month, preferably via automatic bank transfer
• Payment date: Agree on a fixed payment date (e.g., the 1st of the month) and record it in the contract
• Inclusive or exclusive: Be clear about what's included in the rent (gas, water, electricity, internet)

Rent not received?

If the rent doesn't come through:

1. Contact your tenant first, since there's often a simple explanation
2. Send a written reminder if payment is still missing

Tip: keep records

Save all payment receipts and correspondence about payments. This matters if any disputes ever arise.
