Living together brings the occasional challenge. It's perfectly normal for things to go wrong now and then. What matters is how you handle it.

Problems with your tenant

1. Talk about it: Most problems can be solved with a good conversation. Be honest and respectful.
2. Record agreements: Making new arrangements? Put them in writing.
3. Hospi Housing as mediator: Can't work it out? Contact our team. We're happy to help mediate conflicts.

Damage to your property

• Identify the damage and take photos
• Discuss it with your tenant
• Determine responsibility: Was it careless use or normal wear and tear?
• Costs: Damage from careless use may be deducted from the deposit

Maintenance

Make clear maintenance agreements at the start:

• Small maintenance (lightbulbs, minor repairs): usually the tenant's responsibility
• Major maintenance (boiler, leaks, painting): the host/owner's responsibility
