Reviews & references
After your rental period, you can leave a review for your host. It's valuable for the entire Hospi Housing community, and for you too, because a good review doubles as a reference.
Why leave a review?
- Help other tenants: Your experience helps future tenants make their choice
- Build your reputation: Hosts can see that you've rented through Hospi Housing before and how it went
- Improve the platform: Honest reviews help us keep quality high
- Appreciate your host: Had a good experience? A positive review means a lot to your host
How does it work?
- After your rental period ends, you'll get an invitation to leave a review
- Rate various aspects (room, communication, agreements)
- Write a personal comment
- Your review appears on your host's profile
Tips for a good review
- Be honest: Describe your experience as it was, the positive and the less positive aspects alike
- Be specific: "The room was clean and communication was pleasant" says more than "It was fine"
- Be constructive: If there's room for improvement, phrase it respectfully
- Be fair: Judge by the agreements that were in place, not by unrealistic expectations
Reviews as references
A positive review works as a kind of reference. When you search for a room via Hospi Housing again, new hosts can see your previous reviews. That builds trust and improves your chances of a match.
Have you lived with someone outside of Hospi Housing before? Ask if they're willing to act as a reference and mention this in your profile.
