Renting out in Anna Paulowna
Anna Paulowna lies in the municipality of Hollands Kroon, in the rural northern tip of Noord-Holland. It isn't a student town; demand comes mainly from residents and urgent seekers who want to keep living in the region. It's precisely in an area like this that an extra room can mean a lot.
Hospita rental: permit-free
You may rent out a room to at most one person, and in Hollands Kroon no municipal permit is needed for this. Do you rent from a housing corporation yourself? Then you always need permission from Woningstichting Anna Paulowna (WSAP).
A nice development: the hospita rental pilot
Since April 2026 a two-year pilot by WSAP and Hospi Housing has been running (2026–2028). Corporation tenants may temporarily sublet one room for up to one year to a housing seeker. A trial period of nine months applies with a three-month notice period, and during the pilot the municipality allows hospita rental without a permit. After WSAP approval, Hospi Housing guides you free of charge.
Official info: Woningstichting Anna Paulowna: hospita rental (in Dutch). As of June 2026. Always check the current rules with your municipality.
For the national rules, see General rules for room rental. Also check the impact on your municipal taxes.
