Renting out in the Eindhoven urban region (SGE)

The Eindhoven Urban Area (SGE) is a collaboration of nine municipalities around Eindhoven: Best, Eindhoven, Geldrop-Mierlo, Helmond, Nuenen, Oirschot, Son en Breugel, Veldhoven and Waalre. Together they work on housing, the economy and spatial planning, including the WoonST housing programme, which aims to deliver thousands of extra homes towards 2030. The Brainport region is growing fast, and with it the demand for housing.

Hospita rental: rolled out regionally

Hospita rental is encouraged across the whole SGE via a two-year programme, together with Hospi Housing. The rollout is phased: in Eindhoven since 2022, in Helmond and Geldrop-Mierlo since 2025, and in Best, Nuenen, Oirschot, Son en Breugel, Veldhoven and Waalre from April 2026. Step by step, this makes more housing available in the region.

Note: room rental differs per municipality

The rules for room conversion and conversion are not regionally harmonised: each municipality keeps its own housing ordinance and environment plan. The SGE collaboration focuses on housing-construction programming and on encouraging hospita rental, not on a single shared room-conversion quota. If you want to rent to more than one person, check your own municipality's page.
