Chatting on the platform
The chat is where hosts and tenants get to know each other. Good contact starts with good communication, so we've put together a few guidelines.
Why communicate through the platform?
We recommend keeping all communication in the Hospi Housing chat, especially at the start. Why?
- Safety: Your personal details (phone number, email) stay protected until you decide to share them yourself
- Support: If something goes wrong, we can help because the communication is on record
- Overview: All your conversations are in one place
Our chat guidelines
- Be respectful: Treat others the way you'd like to be treated. There's a real person on the other end.
- Respond promptly: Try to reply to messages within 48 hours. It's considerate and boosts your chances of a good match.
- Be honest: Share relevant information about yourself and your expectations. Honesty prevents disappointments later.
- Keep it relevant: The chat is for getting to know each other and sorting out the practical details around the room.
- No spam or commercial messages: Use the chat only for what it's meant for.
When things go wrong
Getting inappropriate, offensive or discriminatory messages? We want to know.
- Use the report function in the chat conversation
- Or contact our team directly
We take every report seriously and act on it as quickly as we can.
