Rules for Homestay rental in and around Eindhoven

Whether you're allowed to rent a room in your house depends on the regulations set by your municipality. The Eindhoven municipality has established the following rules:

“In Eindhoven, it's allowed to rent a part of your house to one person without a license, provided you own the property or are renting from a housing corporation.”

This regulation is unique because if you rent from a housing corporation, you only need to notify the corporation. Approval isn't necessary since all housing associations in Eindhoven allow Homestay rental (the only municipality in the Netherlands that does thusfar!).

This lenient regulation shows that the Eindhoven municipality wants to promote lodging to address the room shortage.
