Every month, Hospi Housing shares a news update covering the latest in home sharing and room rentals. We feature stories from hosts and tenants, explore trends and developments, and offer helpful tips and tricks on renting and letting rooms. In our May update, we gave a behind-the-scenes look at Hospi Housing’s unique, personal approach to matchmaking. The Perfect Match 💯

At Hospi Housing, we always aim for the perfect match between host and tenant. After all, you’re sharing your home, so it’s especially important that there’s a good connection - room for new experiences, both literally and figuratively.

Over the past few years, we’ve implemented many improvements to help you find the most suitable candidates. At the same time, we’ve made it easier to connect with tenants, ensured you don’t get overwhelmed, and helped you stay in control. We do this in three ways:

1. Matching Scores

Behind the scenes, we help you select a good tenant. Based on your profile and preferences, we show a matching score between 0 and 100%. The higher the score, the greater the chance of a successful match!

2. Chat Requests

Room seekers can send one chat request if they’re interested. You decide whether or not to get in touch with them.

3. Personal Contact

You decide who you choose, when you choose, and how long you take to make that decision. At Hospi Housing, we’re proud of this unique process where you’re in control - and we’re always here to offer personal support.

You don’t reach the new generation with posters or flyers. Whether you like it or not, social media is the key to connecting with young people today. That’s why we create TikToks and Reels - short videos about housing and living in the Netherlands.

And sometimes, our videos really take off... One of our latest clips has already been viewed over 3 million times (and counting)!

Hospi Housing goes Goes!

While most of the Netherlands turned orange (figuratively speaking), one province lagged behind. But that’s changing: as of April 2025, the municipality of Goes has partnered with Hospi Housing to promote home sharing. And it doesn’t stop there - we’re also launching in Maastricht, Helmond, and Geldrop-Mierlo!

Helping Students Find a Room During University Open Days

For many students, the search for a room begins as soon as they’re admitted to a study program. That’s why Hospi Housing will again be present at the Open Days of universities and colleges we’ve been working with for years. It’s the perfect opportunity to inform and prepare students for the start of their academic journey!

Hospi Housing Goes Goes! 🐚

In recent years, the map of the Netherlands has steadily turned orange as more people discovered Hospi Housing. Until recently, the province of Zeeland was an exception - but that’s about to change. In April 2025, the municipality of Goes and Hospi Housing launched a campaign to promote home sharing to local residents.

New Pilot with Municipalities and Housing Corporation Compaen

A unique collaboration involving four parties: two municipalities, one housing corporation, and Hospi Housing. For the next two years, residents of Helmond and Geldrop-Mierlo, along with Compaen tenants, can rent out a room in their home free of charge with help from Hospi Housing. [Read more here.]

Now Also Available for Maastricht Renters

Since 2022, Hospi Housing has successfully worked with the municipality and university of Maastricht. Recently, that partnership was renewed - and expanded to include homes owned by local housing corporations. Want to know if you qualify? Check here!
