Temporarily renting a room in your house can feel like a big step. Before you start with this, you want to be well-prepared. Finding a suitable tenant is crucial. That's why at Hospi Housing, we invest a lot of time in creating the perfect match between tenant and host. Who needs cupid when you have Hospi Housing?!
The perfect match between tenant and host
Someone is looking for a room, and you have a spare room in your house. It sounds easy, but at Hospi Housing, we know that a good match is not made easily. It's important to have a connection and get along with each other.
At Hospi Housing, we pay a lot of attention to creating the perfect match. We do this through a combination of a smart matchmaking tool and personal attention. You can start the matchmaking process at any time, and we are available to answer your questions.
Matching based on preferences and expectations
With our large database of room seekers, as a host, you always have a choice of multiple candidates. We help you make the decision easier by clearly showing each candidate's profile, preferences, and expectations. This can include their hobbies, desire for social interaction, or level of independence.
If you're enthusiastic about a candidate, as a host, you can start a chat conversation. Through the chat, you can connect with each other and get to know each other better. If there's a connection, you can exchange contact information and arrange a (virtual) viewing. Still excited? Congratulations! Confirm the match by inviting the student and let the adventure begin!
We understand that you may have doubts or may not want to make an immediate decision. Take the time to consider your options and weigh the benefits. If it's your first time renting out a room in your house, we recommend starting with a short period, for example, 3 to 6 months. This way, you'll find out if being a host is right for you!
Once you've taken the first step and started your search, remember that as a host, you're always in control. You decide who you rent the room to, under what conditions, and for how long. And thanks to the homestay contract, as a host you can one-sided end the contract without giving a reason during the rental period.
Do you want to discuss or find out what's possible in your situation? Sign up here, and we'll get in touch with you as soon as possible. Together, we'll assess if your room is suitable for renting and what renting the room can provide you.
How do you choose a suitable tenant?
All room seekers who register with us create a profile. On their profile, they provide more information about themselves, such as whether they're vegetarian and/or religious, or if they smoke.
After your room advertisement is published, you'll receive email notifications when potential tenants show interest in the room. After reviewing the profiles, you can easily make a selection of your favorite candidates based on your own preferences. TIP: Consider in advance the conditions that are important to you for a potential tenant.
Don't only rely on the student's profile, but also use the chat to get to know the candidates better. Learn more about their personality, studies, eating habits, and background. Once you feel comfortable with a few students, you can decide whom you would like to invite for a (virtual) meeting or viewing. If there's a connection between you, we have a match.
A safe environment for tenant and host
Safety is a priority at Hospi Housing. That's why we personally meet all our hosts and guest families and have personal contact with all future tenants. Throughout the stay, both the tenant and host can always reach out to Hospi Housing.
To ensure the safety of the Hospi Housing platform, it's important to report any inappropriate behavior or fraud immediately. You can make a report in the chat below 'My Profile' or contact us directly.
