Hospi Housing stands with Ukraine
The war in Ukraine has shocked us. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy. There's many ways you can help. In this blog you'll find out how.
As the atrocities in Ukraine continue, we would like to reach out to our community and those affected by the tragedy to let you know that we stand with you and the people of Ukraine. Living free from violence is a human right and we believe in protecting those rights. In any way possible, we want to stand by you and provide a safe space for assistance and support.
At Hospi Housing, all students are welcome, no matter where they are from. We are grateful for the generous hosts who have opened up their homes and embraced cultures from around the globe. We feel even more strengthened by our hosts who have reached out to us over the last two weeks to offer their support during this time of crisis.
For over a year, Hospi Housing has been working closely with the Swedish-Ukrainian IT company Beetroot. Without the hard work of the developers and team in Ukraine we would not be where we are today. Since the start of the war they have been working hard to relocate their staff and families to safe places. Some of them have decided to join the military, the IT army or other forms of resistance. Our thoughts are with them. Stay strong and stay safe.
If you want to help, there are several ways of doing so:
Help Ukraine - Set up by the 'Ukrainians in the Netherlands' foundation. You can donate medication, medical goods and food to various collection points all around the Netherlands. Contact them before you donate or for other forms of support.
Aid for Ukraine, Beetroot Tech Relief Fund - Initiative by the IT-company Beetroot together with NGO Loca Arma Nostra. By donating you help Ukrainians affected by the war in the following situations: I) evacuation and relocation to safer cities; II) personal emergencies including health issues; III) providing income security.
Red Cross & Giro555 - Established by the Red Cross to raise funds for emergency aid in Ukraine. With the link, you can donate money to the organization to help provide emergency aid to Ukrainians.
War Child Holland - An organization raising money to provide psychological support for children of refugee families fleeing to neighboring countries. By donating, you will be helping War Child provide psychological first aid training to local organizations of host countries such as Moldova and Romania.
If you are willing to provide shelter to Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands, please contact us at info@hospihousing.com. We will coordinate our efforts with <5>Takecarebnb, RoomForUkraine or the Ukrainian Consul in the Netherlands.
Help us protect Ukrainians, help us protect lives.
